Ultima Online
Role: Technical Designer
One of the most iconic MMORPGs of all time. I never dreamt when I started playing UO in 1999 that one day I would be working on it. Fast forward to 2008 and that would become a reality as I began my career in gaming as an Event Moderator. Since then I've joined the team full time in a technical design role with over twenty-five shipped title updates, including one expansion - Time of Legends.
Magrathea
Role: Primary Author
Magrathea, inspidered by Douglas Adams' Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, is an interdisciplinary creative project that served as my capstone project for completing a BIS in Technical Game Systems Design at George Mason University. Using a federal STTR grant proposal as a framework, Magrathea synthesizes the fields of Game Design, Biology, and Computer Science to conceptualize a virtual reality gaming experience that motivates understanding the complex systems involved in the evolution of life on Earth.
Extermination: Code Red
Role: Project Lead, Technical Designer
Built using Unreal Engine 4, Extermination: Code Red is a single player action/racing game that puts the player in the seat of their very own alien spaceship. Extermination: Code Red takes the fast paced racing of Mario Kart and mashes it with the zany earthling collection of Toe Jam and Earl: Panic on Funkotron.
Valley of One
Role: Writer
Based on my work on Ultima Online: Time of Legends, Valley of One is a non-linear text adventure that introduces randomness to the traditional choose-your-own-adventure story. Built using Twine, Valley of One rekindles the magic of Worlds of Ultima: The Savage Empire.
ZenQuest
Role: Project Lead, Technical Designer
Built using Unity, ZenQuest is a serious game that promotes well-being and mindfulness by focusing on gameplay mechanics that reinforce relaxing breathing techniques and a deep connection with the natural world.
